Business in China :

Increased competition from globalization as well as the constant search for new growth markets pressure many companies to move to new countries. Many of my European and US clients either move production sites to Eastern Europe, Mexico or Latin-America, or try the "big step" - set up new businesses in Asia.

Presenting between a fifth and a quarter of humanity, China is in particular a very important, but also very contorversial market. Two-digit economical growth rates and a cheap but well-educated labor force stand in contrast to the challenges foreign companies face when dealing with it's very unique business culture, as well as it's complex political and law system.

Being married to a Taiwanese business women, and with half of my relatives being Chinese, I personally became very interested in the Chinese culture. I learned the language, travelled the country and experienced the rapid change and progress China is going through. Strongly believing in the great opportunities China harbours for foreign companies, I started to share my cultural knowledge and business experience with my business associates, helping them to become more successfull in China.

If you also have your own opinions on challenges and opportunities for foreign companies in China, and if you like to share them with me, you're very welcome to contact me.
